Thought we should start looking at some other social networking/media and found this article today which might shed some more light on LinkedIn for some people.

Social Media continues to grow and become more important for business. This is not an assertion but a fact. Consumers continue to head for social media sites in their droves, and marketers are recognizing the importance of attracting and keeping those users.

One of the most important challenges that face today’s companies is how to optimist their LinkedIn accounts. LinkedIn as an organization has grown to over 33 million members in the United States, and over 60 million world-wide in just 10 years.

Linkdin is one of the banded site, whatever info is given there is easily indexed by Search engines and with good rank with the relevant keys. Its a medium for the companies for their SEO. Other social networking sites do not have that much of impact on SE.

LinkedIn is known for its huge database of companies and employees, so for a company its necessary to create an account in LinkedIn.

There is a very good article on Search Engine Land, that describes ranking for your own name using social media sites.

By reputation building you can practically own the entire page by creating all your profiles (twitter, facebook, linkedin, etc).

Of these, it has been found that linkedin outranks everything else in the hierarchy of social media (for ranking for your own name).

A very interesting finding.

I've neglected to create a LinkedIn account. I know it is good for networking jobs and what not, but I just "never had time" to get around to it. Same with Google+ it just wasn't high on the to-do list.

So... with that in mind Let's get social!

You are right you should start focusing o other Social media networks too. Social network has expanded its era to a big level. Its only only way to entertainment. These have the power to convert a name into a brand too.

I can confirm that for Info Vilesilencer the LinkedIN profile has rapidly taken the #2 spot for the name. Twitter comes in at #4 and Facebook at #5.

Remembering the site has sitelinks so... the spots aren't really #2, #4, and #5 they are more like #5, #7, and #8.

I've changed the name to reflect my own so it will be interesting to see if Google still ranks the profile that way.

It's too important for a business or a company...If you want to promote your business then Linkedin is one of the best platform for promoting!!!
