Hi there,

I was wondering if some of you had also noticed that Google had removed many pages from directories from his data base ?

For instance one directory that I had experience this way, one from many :
miriblack.com Page rank 6

If you search this following page category Recreation_and_Sports in Google it returns
miriblack.com/Recreation_and_Sports/

Your search - http://miriblack.com/Recreation_and_Sports/ - did not match any documents.

It's very strange that most part of directories are this way by now.

I don't think it is a trend if that is what you are suggesting.

Miriblack was down recently for quite a while. They've done a redesign. Google has done probably 2 mini updates in that time, and possibly they figured the site was no longer available and dumped it from the database entirely.

Because a site:miriblack.com shows the site is no longer indexed.

The only reason to assume that the site isn't banned is because it retains it's PR6. Google did a visible PR update very recently, so perhaps something else is going on here...

Yes I am suggesting a trend. I have a bunch of those directories that have many of their pages that are no longer known by GG.

An amazing thing it's livefouz.com Yesterday their page /dir/Blogs/ was in the GG data base and this morning it's no more there

I didn't know about miriblack but it was only an exemple on the hand. Thanks for the info.

I looked at 4 of those directories at random and had no problem searching for internal pages. I chose pages that that had actual listings. They were all indexed in Google.

I've taken a look too, and whilst some of them might be going down in the number of pages indexed they still had very good indexation. High hundreds of pages.

I don't see a trend.

It's probably our method to check that differs.

I don't search on pages to find if they are indexed, so you are right that our method of checking differs.

I use the site: command to check indexed pages, that is what it is designed for. It also says that the category you have suggested isn't indexed actually is.
