FREE Advertising Offer for 2012 - Info Vilesilencer Directory Owners Forum and Free Directory List

Currently we are offering FREE listings on the spotlight for 2012. For every 6 reviews that are included for a member on the Info Vilesilencer site, a FREE spotlight advertisement will be offered to that member - for the remainder of 2012

There are only 5 of these spots available (there are currently 2 directories in the spotlight whose advertising has expired they are placeholders for now and will be removed).

What is the spotlight?

The spotlight is a prominent position that exists site-wide on the Info Vilesilencer site. See image below.

What's the catch?

You must be a registered member of the Info Vilesilencer site. Registration is FREE
You must make 6 reviews and have them all approved.
We will only list websites in the spotlight that are either a directory or a directory-related resource such as a directory forum, directory blog or directory script (excludes directory lists or submission services).
We will make an exception for charity websites.

Bonus Free Advertising
For every 3 approved reviews we will also offer a FREE site-wide banner slot on the details pages (1 per directory). There are literally 000's of these pages and they garner huge traffic. The top 20 alone would constitute close to 100,000 views!

You'll notice we have banners on the right hand side. (see the eWhose banner) They exist on every details page in the database (so theres probably 1 or 2 thousand).

How do I write a review?

To provide a rating and a review for a directory:

Login to the Info Vilesilencer site
Navigate to the details page of a directory (e.g. http://info.vilesilencer.com/directory/quhl)
Write a review in text box below the image and use the 5-star rating to give it a 1 - 5 star rating (half stars are available too).

What constitutes a quality review?

We want reviews that offer something better than "Wow this is a great directory!" if you are going to submit that, we are going to reject that. Also, this isn't youtube, it's not a place to defame or act like a snooty child who thinks he's uber cool. Don't say stupid stuff like "first!!!!!!!!!!" or "h3y guys are j00 ha4x0rs?"... save those antics for the kiddie sites. This is a professional directory list, and we expect the people reviewing to do so in a professional manner.

You don't need to go overboard. We don't need an essay on the directory in review.

A few short sentences, to explain the pros/cons you have with the directory, and a click on the 5-star rating (1 poor, to 5 good) to round off what you think of the directory as a whole.

Remember, it is OK to be negative when talking about a directory, but do so in a constructive manner.

e.g. The directory sux you can't submit. is not a review that will help anyone.

Try instead... was unable to submit because the captcha is broken, and it is a required field. this gives the owner something to take away as feedback in the form of an actionable item they can fix and it explains to everyone else why something isn't working.

NB: All the advertising on the Info Vilesilencer website (blog, forum and site - including the spotlight positions) uses rel=nofollow.

oh, you really are getting me to use my brain on this one. I've submitted to a ton (technical term) of directories. Now, to just remember what pros/cons of them I can.

I've approved all reviews so far. The beauty of the system is that you can "modify" your review/rating at any point in time if your experience with a directory changes at any time.

I had someone contact me via email the other night to tell me their experience with one of the directories in the Top 100. I said to them, thanks for the information, but how about sharing your real experience with the entire community using the ratings system... that's what its there for!

Their experience, could make or break someone bothering to visit. I don't feel like it's my place to list someone's experience on their behalf because what some people think are important details, I would probably consider trivial, as my focus is actually on criteria and content..

And I know from submitters perspectives, they would have a very different idea on directories to me, so individual reviews are going to be much more relevant to them than my opinion.

Just an added note. For people wondering if their reviews have been included. You can see the reviews being added from the [Other Changes] box on the homepage.

Unfortunately only the Admin currently gets the link to the details page, but I am looking at having this changed next week so that all reviews being added that show up in the [Other Changes] tab will link to the details page for all membership levels including non-members.

The 1st spotlight position has been taken. I will take some time to write my review and get that online today.

When I put that 1st one live the other 2 that are there will be removed (they have been expired for sometime).

Just a reminder this free advertising opportunity is still very much available.

A lot of people are asking for advertising, I'm giving it away, take advantage those are high traffic, high visibility spots to bring your site brand awareness.
