Lycos is also good search engine. but i am using google for it gives me best results.

(Sometimes it is easier to get in a local search engine than a global one, so I suggest to new webmasters to submit their sites to a local search engine if their submissions to the global engines goes nowhere.)

DuckDuckGo seems quite clever. I still think they have a ways to go with relevancy, this is due largely in part to them buffering the results from other engines with wikipedia.

They believe this gives them greater relevancy. Personally I think it weakens their relevancy. You can't grab another engines data and then add more gunk to it and expect it to be more relevant. They *should* just take Google's results and filter them better. Anyone that does that will steal share from Google right under their nose, even if it is a bit cheeky to do so.

I read somewhere that DuckDuckGo is working on weeding out the really garbage sites from their listings. I've only recently been exploring them and that does seem to be the case with the searches I've done.
