Windows Media Player message comes up only if your Mac doesn’t have WMP installed. Last night I installed Safari in my PC and AMRAY page opened up without any messages WSE because Safari installation found WMP files and configured Safari to use them. MSN offers WMP 9 for Mac OS and it takes less than 3 minutes to have it up and running on any Mac OS.
The only time we can remove that popping WMP message if we stop using player but because according to our stats only 3% of total visitors use Safari and according to demographics stats 90% of our visitors are ages between 18 and 34 who love our index page (we have around 6 repeated visits per 1 unique) thus, sorry guys but removing WMP from index page just doesn't make any sense.
We also added new feature to our directory. If you look around index page, you’ll find link to AMRAY Web TV Directory with thousands of Free Live TV shows, which you can watch on your PC or Mac or embed anywhere on your site if you have WMP installed. And of course our collection of over 2,000 MP 3 files, you won’t be able to play without WMP.
Those of you who know our site thumb view pop up image feature that we pioneered years ago, very soon will be seeing not just image but video view of that site. Our programmers are working on this project and when it will be introduced, you will have to have WMP installed in order to have full benefit of that feature.
Like it or not WMP as much a part of Mac OS as QuickTime is part of PC. We use them not because we like or dislike vendors but because it allows us to get benefits from both sites and to enjoy fruits of their competition.
