Query about Meta description tag?

I have read somewhere that we can add supplememt words in meta keywords and it helps to rank our website in SERP,when someone search with the combination of our keyword & supplement words.

For Example:

Keyword: penny stamp
supplement word in meta keyword tag: collection, collecting

It will show our site in SERP, when someone search with query : penny stamp collection.

Is it true?

Meta keyword is not such important. Every keyword needs backlinks, and those will not generate automatically. So. it is important to create back links for each keyword.
If your website becomes an authority then you should expect that it will return you traffic against such non decided phrases.

I've recently read up on the meta keyword tag whilst researching an answer for a post on another forum (yes some of us actually do research before posting, fancy that!).

The meta keyword tag is not used by Google, Yahoo or Bing. Metasearch engines which pull results from several search engines would also not use the tag by association (since the engines they pull the results from don't use them).

There is no value in adding the meta keywords tag to your site. It is deprecated. Which means it is no longer used anywhere and should be avoided.

After Google's Penguin update, meta keywords are not having that much importance. Meta keywords do not play role in SEO , any more . But Bing and Yahoo still give meta keywords very much importance.
