I have done in this weekend an analyze on the way the new Google PR update has affected the way the Google PR update is distributing. After the last update I suspect some big changes so I decided to analyze them.

I run the analyze on 3574 directories ( contained in Website Submitter ) and found the results quite amazing, a big downgrade on each level of PR distribution.

I have release all these details in a graphical form on an entry in my blog: How Google Page Rank update is affecting the directories? (http://www.submitsuite.com/blog/how-google-page-rank-update-is-affecting-the-directories-69)

All sites have lost PR.

Take into account 3500 blogs and I would wager the results will be the same.

Some sites didn't lose just 1 PR point, they lost as many as 3-4 points. Directories might have lost 1 or maybe 2 but I doubt that many lost 3, like many of the bloggers did.

However you look at it, whilst the visible PR number "going down" might look negative, it's how those sites are doing in the SERPs that determines their usefulness - when talking about them in the same breath as Google.

Now if you were able to correlate a drop in PR with a drop in SERPs, then you would have an interesting statistic. :)

Thanks for providing the chart. It is interesting.

One thing also to consider...
Over time, it is natural for sites to go down in pagerank. There are always fewer as a percentage in the higher ranks. As more sites are added to the internet, there is a natural progression downward. Since this was one of the longest ever delays between updates, the progression downward was more dramatic.
