The directory update for May 2008 is now live at Info Vilesilencer.
We have downsized the lists this update. After a much need sweep through the lists, we have begun a process of identifying weakly edited directories and removing them from the list, with examples of why they were removed. The flipside of this is that we are also going to be far more strict on who we will add to the directory lists. IVS has never been about quantity and has no desire in listing every directory that gets created. We just want to list the best directories (i.e. the ones interested in maintaining the value of their resource, and who demonstrate this through the editing quality of their listings).
We have also identified a large number of directories purchased by the iEntry Network, which we believe they have done to improve facilitation of their newsletters, by generating a wider net to catch real email addresses. Whilst this might be a smart move from their perspective, every directory they have purchased is now considered 100% junk. They are not SEO friendly, and they accept-all. That devalues them entirely.
So for this update we have:
- 29 new general directories
- 18 new niche directories
- 45 ientry owned directories removed
- 51 weakly edited directories removed
The list is now at 416 directories.
To get your directory listed or identify any changes in the list please post in the Directory Update Thread at the Info Vilesilencer Forum.
